Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell was TV personality and former chef at the Institute of Culinary Education and she was formerly an instructor of cooking. She's the host of Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. With her trademark spiky blond hair and an exuberant presence, Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of restaurant dishes and reveals simple, easy-to-master recipes to the home cook in her Food Network series Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell worked at top New York restaurants and studied Italian cuisine and environment. Also, she was a contestant in the Food Network's Iron Chef America. When she was growing up in the Upstate New York area, Chef Burrell found a passion for cooking and food at a young age. She pursued her love of food and restaurant by enroling in The Culinary Institute of America after earning a degree in English as well as Communication at Canisius College, Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America has been a fantastic experience for me. It was hard to study about, practice or do all the things I did. Chef Burrell who graduated from The Culinary Institute for Foreigners in Italy worked for one year in Umbria in Umbria at La Taverna del Lupo and Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, the Michelin-starred restaurant. While in Italy helped her to understand and appreciate the Italian style of living and the culture and this has left an impact on her food and culinary experience. Burrell has served on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which helps brighten the lives of children facing issues and also is a Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Celebrity Ambassador. she advocates for juvenile diabetes awareness. She frequently travels around the United States in her position as both a mentor and public speaker in which she speaks about her career and love of cooking. Anne has stated throughout her culinary career that she's grateful being able to communicate with people what is most important to her.
